In fact Ivan is guilty that some countries behave to him like that. Nevertheless, we love Vanechka!  Actually I do not understand why a sunflower is the flower of Russia in "Hetalia". There are a lot of sunflowers on Ukraine. In Russia sunflowers grow only on a south... I remember, once me and my friends saw a sunflower before a shop and tried for a long time to tear it off  |

As for the sunflowers, there was one moment in Hetalia where Lithuania asked Russia what he dreamed for and immediately regrets it thinking it will be something creepy. It turns out Ivan's greatest wish is to be somewhere warm surrounded by sunflowers. A lot of the fanbase thought it was sweet and draw him with sunflowers to try and make that dream come true a little. Or so I guess.
